Reminder that 2nd qtr 2018 will be ending in 2 weeks. Make sure to file and pay those payroll taxes by 7/31/18.

Hard to believe that we are already half way thru February. That in turn means there is only 2 months left to get your taxes prepared and filed by 4/17/18 deadline. We have appointments available so give us a call to get yours scheduled.

Make sure you have a review of 2018 done after you have your 2017 taxes prepared. There are many changes that will most likely affect you somehow. Adjustments to withholding may need to be done.
As you start to receive your tax documents for income tax preparation, please make sure to review them for correct information such as name spellings, social security numbers, amounts and even the correct address. Make sure to contact anyone that has incorrect information and get it updated for future.
Well a new year has arrived. Are you watching for important tax documents in the mail? Be on the look out as they will start arriving soon and remember that the IRS requires most documents be MAILED by January 31, 2018 so it may take the mail a few days to get to you.
As the end of 2017 approaches please make sure you check your federal withholding for the start of the 2018 year. Also make sure you have all your donations in and receipts for those as well. If possible make that January 2018 mortgage payment in December 2017 for some extra interest. if you are in need of help please contact me.

Please be aware of calls that are coming in from threatening people stating they are from the IRS. They are not and are just trying to get information from you so they can file a fraudulent return. Do not give them any information but make sure you document person’s name, phone number, date and time of call and any other information they give you so you can report it thru the IRS website – irs.gov.
